Mission accomplished: ALDABA TIC-Camp 2026 successfully closes its first session in A Coruña and Ourense after an exciting journey through time

Final 1Er Turno TIC Camp 2026 cátedra ALDABA-WIB

The ALDABA-WIB Chair celebrates the closing of the first week of its technology camp at the Faculty of Computer Science of the A Coruña Campus (UDC) and at the Higher School of Computer Engineering of the Ourense Campus (UVigo). Under the theme "STEM Adventure: Journey Through Time", the first group of participants from both cities has completed a unique educational immersion, blending historical eras with today's digital tools.

Innovation through play
Throughout this adventure, children aged 6 to 12 have traveled through the past and the future, solving challenges using drones, robotics, 3D design and printing, programming, AI, and cybersecurity.
Guided by Play Code Academy, students have not only solved puzzles by developing technological solutions and key skills, but have also built new friendships and memories.

Institutional support
Once again, the Social Council of the University of Vigo has financially supported the Ourense edition, recognizing the value of this initiative in reducing the gender gap in the university degree most affected by this issue: computer engineering.

Figures at a glance
This year, a total of 132 children will attend both camps, 60% of whom will be girls. This edition strengthens the Chair’s commitment to creating more diverse technological spaces.

Final highlight in Ourense and continuation in A Coruña
While the Ourense venue closes this year’s edition with pride in having inspired new vocations, the facilities at UDC are already preparing to continue the experience with the second session from June 29 to July 3, completing a summer of innovation and equality.
