Awards for Talent
In its commitment to recognizing academic effort and promoting equality, the Chair creates the First ALDABA-WIB Best Bachelor's Thesis Awards.
This award is born with the vocation of opening paths and breaking down barriers, promoting female participation in the technological world by valuing university projects that, in some way, contribute to reducing the gender gap in ICT.

Videos for Equality in ICT
As part of its commitment to raising awareness from an early age, the Chair is promoting a video contest aimed at educational centers in Galicia, with the participation of students in 1st and 2nd year of secondary education.
Thru brief audiovisual pieces designed for social media, the initiative invites reflection on gender equality in the field of ICT, addressing stereotypes, access to technology, and future expectations in an approachable and participatory manner.

The rules and registration for both awards are available on the Chair's website (wib.aldaba.es).

ALDABA-WIB also participates, once again, in the awards for the Best Applied Bachelor's Theses from the Faculty of Computer Science at UDC. These recognize those works with the greatest potential for application and relevance to society.

Update of the BBG-TIC Barometer
The Gender Gap Barometer in ICT Studies (BBG-TIC), developed by the Chair, will be updated with data from the 2024/2025 academic year.
This free digital consultation tool allows for the analysis of the evolution of women's presence in ICT degree programs at the universities of A Coruña and Vigo, taking into account numerous filters and temporal criteria, and contributing to data-driven decision-making to promote equality.

Informative talks
The Chair will continue to promote its orientation and technological dissemination programs thru two key initiatives.
On one hand, VisibilizaTIC is aimed at 1st and 2nd-year high school students from educational centers in A Coruña, Ourense, and the surrounding areas. The program aims to awaken technological vocations, especially among young women, by providing them with real-life examples of women professionals in the ICT field.
On the other hand, the Lecture Series: Practical Application of ICT in Business, aimed at university students. These sessions offer a practical insight into how ICT is applied in real business environments, fostering the acquisition of skills aligned with labor market demands and facilitating professional integration.

ALDABA TIC-Camp: fostering vocations from childhood
In 2026, a new edition of the ALDABA TIC-Camp will be held, a technological camp for children aged between 6 and 12.
During the initiative, participants will be able to experiment with drones, robot programming and applications, and 3D design, among other activities.
The general objective of the camp is to foster interest in technology from an early age and contribute to gender equality in the ICT field, which is why 80% of the spots will be reserved for girls.
The theme for the 2026 edition will be announced in the coming months.

Scholarship Program
As part of its commitment to talent and the link between university and business, the Chair promotes a scholarship program aimed at university students. Thru it, the scholarship recipients can collaborate on ALDABA projects and develop their technical and professional skills in a practical and collaborative environment.
