The ALDABA-WIB Chair is once again collaborating in the VI Internship and Job Fair organized by the Faculty of Computer Science at the UDC, an event designed to give students firsthand exposure to the companies where they will undertake curricular internships next academic year. The Chair will have a stand that can be visited on Friday, April 25, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

As part of the Fair, the four finalist projects for the 10th FIC Award for Best Applied Bachelor’s Thesis, selected by the companies supporting the chairs, will be presented, and on Friday, April 25 at 10:30 a.m., the winners of this edition will be announced.

The four finalist projects, all awarded the highest honors, are: "ComunicELA: Communication Assistance Software for Patients with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis," by Pablo Páramo; "Deep Learning-Based Analysis of Retinal Biomarkers in the Macular Region for the Detection of Neurodegenerative Disorders Using OCT Images," by Carlota Vázquez; "Addressing the Development of Software Product Lines from an Application Lifecycle Management Perspective," by Alejandro Buján; and "Automatic Detection of Cervical Spine Fractures Using Deep Learning on Computed Tomography Images," by Carmen Lozano.

The Aldaba-WIB, NTT DATA, and Sngular (CICAS Chair) chairs sponsor this annual award, which is supported by the ICT Research Center (CITIC). It comes with a €750 prize for first place and €500 for honorable mentions.

Additionally, on April 23, 24, and 25, the thirty companies participating in the FIC’s 6th Internship and Employment Fair program will have information booths where they will advise students.
